If you travel to areas where infectious diseases occur which normally do not or hardly appear in western Europe you might be at medical risk. Often medical assistance is also less accessible than we are used to. That is why there is a vaccination advice for various countries outside Europe.
At our practice we can give you advice and vaccination for the most common infections.
It is best to arrange travel vaccinations 4 to 6 weeks before departure. Most vaccinations will give adequate protection after this incubation period. Some vaccinations must be given longer in advance.
If you like to receive a personal travel advise/vaccinations from our practice, we ask you to fill in and provide us with our travelers vaccination form. Within 3 working days you can expect a phone call from the general practitioner who will discuss with you which vaccinations are necessary and prescribes recipes if necessary.
The vaccinations are only available on prescription and you need to buy them at your pharmacy.
Besides these costs you have to pay us € 25,00 in cash for the travel advice, the recipes and injections if necessary.
In most cases these vaccinations are not covered by the health insurance. The costs for the vaccinations can be calculated at the website Medicijnkosten.nl.
When your insurance does cover the vaccinations, you can submit the invoice(s) to the insurance company yourself.
More advice and information about the necessary vaccinations can be found at the website from the Landelijk Coördinatiecentrum Reizigersadvisering (LCR).
